Promises

Why can't people keep their promises? Keep their word? I expect people not attached to me to not keep their word. But why can't family, friends, lovers, bosses, co-workers, & parents keep their word? I understand things may get in the way, but it is more often the case that they just don't keep their word. Of course I can be held guilty of this too, but my fault lies more with the fact that I may not have done something immediately and I get it eventually. But to just NOT do something- it's despicable!!

"I'm going to be a better friend." "I'm going to keep in touch." "I'm going to get this for you." I'm going to get you some help for blah blah blah." "I'm going to start my 'home improvement' project." "'m going to be a better parent." "I'm going to be more responsible." and the list goes on. Know what fuckers? Until you actually do what you promise, don't bother me. Don't make promises you can't keep because I'm NOT listening until I see results. 

In the meantime, I'm just going to step up and do shit for myself.
